Griffin, Sarah Lois
Sarah Lois Griffin
Deceased: June 29, 2016
Visitation: Tuesday July 5, 2016 4pm until 9pm
Sarah Lois Griffin of Chicago, daughter of Theodore and Joice Vogt, passed away Wednesday morning at 12:00 a.m., June 29th 2016 in the presence of close family members after living strong and happy for six years despite enduring metastasized breast cancer, a disease for which there is no cure. Sarah did not lose the fight against cancer, instead she was victorious in not letting the disease define her or change how she chose to live.
Sarah was born July 30th, 1967, in Cleveland Ohio, spending the majority of her youth in Athens Ohio. Her love of fashion and craft showed early in life as she designed and produced costumes for high school theater only to later graduate the University of Cincinnati with a BS in Fashion Design and to go on to a distinguished and satisfying career in fabric and garment sourcing ultimately to become Senior Manager of Product Development at Cintas.
Sarah, deeply loved for her wit, strength, candor, and love for others will be sorely missed by her family, friends and co-workers. She is survived by her husband Dan Griffin, children James and Reid, mother-in-law Mary Jo, brother-in-law Timothy, brothers Dave (Pat), Andrew (Pam) and Adam (Sherry) Vogt, Nephews Chuck (Karen), Brian (Courtney), Justin, Andrew, Theodore, and Nieces Laura (Jon), and Rachel, and Great Nephews Maverick, Knox, and Great Niece Emma.
Visitation will be held from 4-9pm July 5th at the Lakeview Funeral Home, 1458 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago, and Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 6th, at St. Michaels in Old Town, 1633 N Cleveland Ave, Chicago.

My name is Kathy Efaw Radcliff,
I went to school with Sarah in Athens in middle school and high school. I wish I would of got the chance to see her when she was here probably for our 25th reunion. We weren't close friend's, but I am still saddened to hear about her loss being taken from her family at such a young age. I hate it for her boy's to have to grow up without their mother. I could tell just by seeing her pictures that she was a wonderful mother and person inside and out. I send my sincere condolences to your family and may God be with you during this most difficult time in your lives.
